We have put these thru the ringer, clocking tens of thousands of vertical climb in the Tetons, Wasatch, Sierras, Canadian Rockies, Beartooth and beyond. Nobody wants to lug full size snowboard/splitboard bindings down on your back. Wise up, slim down and enjoy this minimalist binding that is incredibly light and packable.

Spark R&D Compatible Ultralight Ascent Binding has a grip system to prevent side to side slippage within the binding and includes the “wammy bar” for easy adjustment of the heel risers. These bindings fold up to an easily packable 4x6x9 inches to easily fit into any pack and weigh only 640 grams (1 lb 7 oz).

An issue inherent to splitsurfing is that you have less leverage on icy sidehill slopes. This is due both to the use of softer “powsurf specific” boots and especially to not having a high-back that can be strapped to your boots for increased leverage. An excellent solution for this issue is the use of Skeats.  We have been using Skeats for years with excellent results on the sketchier sidehills and  slick/steep approaches. We highly recommend adding these to your kit!
