Behind the Scenes of The Powsurf Chronicles Episode 6 – Canada!

Trip of a lifetime? Yes. We are gonna quickly take you behind the Scenes of The Powsurf Chronicles Episode 6 – Canada!  Episode 6 is the latest episode in our Powsurf Chronicles Series and it was shot on one hell of an amazing trip to British Columbia.

Just the opportunity alone to go on a powsurfing trip with a legendary snowboarder like Scotty Arnold would have been enough.. but we had no idea what we were in for on this one.  After 20 hrs of driving we hit the Canadian border were immediately harassed, searched and vehicle stripped down because I guess we looked like criminals?? They were convinced we were guilty of something, and if going up to Canada to powsurf with friends was a crime then yeah.. we would plead guilty.  We arrived at a hotel at 3 AM to greet Rob Stevens and immediately fell on our faces to sleep. Get up and go time was 6 AM so 3 hours later we hit the road to meet the crew. We had no idea who we were going to meet up with but that crew ended up being stacked with seasoned shred legends!

DCP, Alex Warburton, Justen Lamereau, Kevin Sansalone, Scott Gaffney and Photographer Jeff Patterson were waiting at the trailhead. It was as though we were still asleep and having some sort of epic shred dream. But this shit was real!!

Our goal was to have a good time testing out a variety of powsurfers and noboards and document the good times for a story in Snowboard Canada. Fortunately I (Jeremy Jensen) brought along my massive stash of camera gear to capture all the fun on video at the same time.. and of course this Episode of the Powsurf Chronicles is the result.

Somehow we scored 3 straight bluebird days in early January in the coastal range of BC.. something that rarely happens this time of year. The boys knew the zone like the backs of their hands and we had an absolute blast riding a big selection of Grassroots Powsurfers, Aesmo powsurfers, a Shark powsurfer and a couple of noboard setups. It was super fun to feel the differences in these boards and the differnt skills it takes to ride them. For us it was the first time we had seen or tried a “noboard” and for most of the Canadian rippers this was their first time riding Grassroots Powsurfers. Lots of eye opening moments to be had and pretty much endless high fives and smiles.

Seeing your shred heroes ride your creations for the first time was pretty surreal. Their minds were blown and my heart was filled with stoke knowing I was able to give them something, since these dudes had given me so much fire growing up as huge fans of their snowbooarding.

Can’t thank these guys enough for their gifts and their welcoming spirit. It made the first week of our trip to BC absolutely amazing.. and we were just getting started!  The next week was another life changer.. but we’ll get to that at a later date.  For now, enjoy Episode 6 of the Powsurf Chronicles! CANADA!!

We are stoked to share with you The Powsurf Chronicles Episode 6 – Canada!

Grassroots riders Jeremy Jensen and Scotty Arnold take a trip up north to powsurf with a handful of Canadian rippers. 4 days of sunshine and dry powder conditions in the Coastal mountains of British Columbia had stoke levels high as ever. Most of our Canadian friends were riding Grassroots Powsurfers for the first time and seeing the stoke and the smiles on their faces at the bottom of every run made the trip that much better.

Riding with Canadian snowboard legends was a mega bonus!! Making turns with your heroes is pretty unreal and to be able to share our creations and see the joy in their eyes was an unbelievable experience.

Riders: DCP, Kevin Sansalone, Alex Warburton, Justin Lamoureux, Rob Stevens, Scott Gaffney, Scotty Arnold, and Jeremy Jensen.
