Powsurfing “Ankle Biters”… if you are wondering what that means then you came to the right place.  In this particular case it holds a couple of meanings.  The term “Ankle Biters” comes from surf culture and refers to tiny yet surfable waves. This short film it also features “Tilly the Powder Hound”, an Australlian Shepherd who loves to bite at the ankles of Jeremy Jensen as he’s powsurfing.

Part of the beauty of powsurfing is that it is so scalable!  You can have so much fun on the most small and simple terrain.  The so called “early season” can feel like it’s months long.. so being able to make the most out of the small amount of terrain that has coverage is so much fun and waaaayyy better than not riding at all.  It spurs creativity and makes a satisfying day of riding during those early days of winter. This was another really fun film to make, shot during 2 days riding in very shallow conditions.

Riders Chris Pierre and Jeremy Jensen used Verts to access all of the terrain in this film, making travel simple and light footed. Another benefit of early season powdersurfing. No matter what it just feels awesome to be out playing in the snow when most people are still waiting for the season to “get started”. Times like these ared what got us so hyped on powsurfing from the very beginning. These boards and this style of riding really transforms the small terrain into a full on playground.
