Behind the scenes of The Powsurf Chronicles Episode 7 – Paddling Out
Here’s a look behind the scenes of The Powsurf Chronicles Episode 7. We called this episode “Paddling Out” to give the audience an idea of “how we get there”. The real kicker here is it’s obvious reference to surfing. There are so many parallels and when it boils down to it, accessing good powsurfing terrain is actually MUCH easier than accessing surfable waves in the ocean. It just takes knowledge of the environment, a little weather watching and most of all, the motivation to get up there and make it happen. Creativity is king and there is a massive world of snow covered fun that awaits you.
The Grassroots Powsurf crew accesses the mountains in a variety of different ways. Wether we are stepping outside a ski resort boundary for a side-country descent, hiking the roadside attractions using verts, skinning deep into the biggest waves on our splitsurfers or walking up the neighborhood sledding hill. ALL of these ways provide so much fun. Of course some require more work than others, a bit more gear and most importantly knowledge of the backcountry and how to do that safely.
We are hyped to bring you The Powsurf Chronicles Episode 7.
There are endless mountain waves out there just waiting to be surfed. It’s simply up to the rider to seek them out and make it happen. Geography, motivation, timing, a creative mind and knowledge of your environment are what matters most. The possibilities for binding-free powder riding are endless, and we have only scratched the surface of what is possible.
Riders: Jeremy Jensen, Craig Stevenson, Chris Dunker
